A finalist in Zee TV Marathi  Saregamapa 2009, Ashwini Gore Deshpande is a talented and versatile Indian vocalist based in Austin, TX.

Gifted with a melodious and soulful voice, Ashwini performs various genres – Hindustani classical, semi-classical (Natyageet & Abhang) and light music (Bhavgeet, Bollywood) with great command. Ashwini has performed at several prestigious events in India as well as Europe and US. Her key  performances include Stockholm Sangeet Conference, BMM Convention at Dallas, Texas Capitol, CBS TV Austin, KUTX Radio, Austin Marathi Mandal, Kaladarpan, Kumar Gandharva Sangeet Samaroh, Pulotsav amongst many more. She was selected to be a part of South by Southwest Festival as a guest panel speaker. She has performed at the Embassy of India to Finland for Speaker Madam Sumitra Mahajan’s visit. Ashwini released her single – a Ganesh Vandana ‘Anand Roop Gajavadan’ which was widely appreciated. As an educator, Ashwini is the founder of Austin Raga School of Music and is training many students in Austin and USA. 

Ashwini’s journey with music started at a very young age. Born in Belagavi in a family of musicians, she was trained in Hindustani Vocal Music (Gwalior Gharana) for 12 years by her father Shri. Mukund Gore. Further, she was fortunate to receive training from Smt. Jayshree Patnekar, a renowned vocalist and senior disciple of Pt. Gajananbuwa Joshi. Ashwini has also received guidance for natyasangeet from Anand Gandharva Pt. Anand Bhate. Ashwini has a Master’s degree with a gold medal in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music as well as a Master’s degree in Mathematics.  She has lived in India and Finland. She currently resides in Austin, TX, USA.
